“Entering the State Capitol each day while serving there, I remembered we as legislators weren’t the owners of power but merely its trustees.” So I wrote in a recent Denver Post column. It’s easy to forget that, let me tell you. Thus recent headlines are full of lapses by the trustees of power in public office and public classrooms. We’ll talk about them this Sunday on “Backbone Radio with John Andrews,” 5-8pm on 710 KNUS in Denver or 710knus.com wherever you are.

** Questions about Rep. Joe Stengel’s off-session pay, Sen. Deanna Hanna’s extortion of a donor, and Rep. Angie Paccione’s tribute payola have rocked the legislature. We’ll talk it over with Senate Minority Leader Andy McElhany and (newly chosen) House Assistant Minority Leader Ted Harvey.

** Leftist indoctrination disguised as teaching, Ward Churchill’s college specialty, now has its high-school poster guy in Jay Bennish, the America-hater at Overland HS in Aurora. My guests to discuss this will be David Horowitz, the author of a new book on dangerous professors, and Troy Eid, the CU regent candidate who vows “No More Ward Churchills.”

** Speaking of hot books, Kate O’Beirne of National Review has a scorcher in Women Who Make the World Worse. I’ll have Kate on to tell about this hilarious expose’ of radical feminism.

** Plus a talk with State Board of Education candidate Lee Kunz and petition activist Lynn Cottrell about their popular ballot issue requiring at least 65 cents of the education dollar to reach classrooms.

There’s nothing else quite like Backbone Radio, the most principled, most patriotic, most faith-based, most Colorado-proud spot on the dial. I invite you to join us for another lively Sunday evening of fact, opinion, and insight.

Yours for self-government,
JOHN ANDREWS
