War, what war?

Slated on Backbone Radio, November 4

Listen every Sunday, 5-8pm on 710 KNUS, Denver.. 1460 KZNT, Colorado Springs… and streaming live at 710knus.com.

Democrats seeking to be president give us more and more reasons to say no. Now it’s Joe Biden using the 9/11 attacks as a joke punchline ridiculing Rudy Giuliani. Before it was John Edwards saying the war on terror is only a bumper sticker, not a real conflict. Will the American people buy this childish denial? Not if the Republicans, campaigning as grownups, have anything to say about it.

** The war is very real, and on the 4th we’ll talk about how it’s going with Angelo Codevilla of the Claremont Institute and Daveed Gartenstein-Ross from the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies.

** Election 2007 is upon us, and the 2008 contests are heating up as well. Mike Littwin joins me to talk about Tancredo leaving Congress — and the Rockies’ big year. Scott Gessler deconstructs the Denver tax and bond proposal. Mary Weaver, mayoral candidate in Golden, talks about suburban races.

** Plus Robert Peters from Morality in Media with a plan to counteract what Laura Ingraham calls the pornification of America and I call the cultural sewer.

And Mark Your Calendar for Nov. 11: Join me for our third birthday party, 5-8pm on 11/11 at Lodo’s in Highlands Ranch, SW corner of Quebec & C-470. It’s the weekend after the election, as well as Veterans’ Day, so there will be a lot to talk about as we broadcast live from the middle of the celebration. No charge, no reservations, it’s just my way of saying thanks to all the friends who’ve helped us build Backbone Radio since we went up in November 2004.

Three years of weekend radio, 150 shows, where did the time go? Only yesterday we were celebrating Bush’s second term and learning to say “Speaker Romanoff.” Now the focus is preventing a third Clinton term, painting Colorado red again, and victory for civilization against the barbarians. Plenty to keep us busy — but all very doable with your help, fellow patriots.

Yours for self-government,
JOHN ANDREWS
