I can not believe that at last such truth in a commentary has finally been accepted and published by the New Mexican. Richardson has been such a golden boy to the New Mexican, honored by the publication, praised for his endless egomaniacal behavior and self-promotion, that I am appalled that someone has been allowed to expose him for what he is. PRI is what Ricardson grew up with, influenced by, and he brought it in his carpet bag to NM. But....the public that voted for him in excess asked for this, and deserve what that public voted for. I too left NM upon Richardson's first election to Congress, knowing that he would pull us down to his level. As a college student at UNM, I studied the history of the political parties of Mexico in Guadalaja, and understand what John Dendahl speaks of in Richardson's ruthless dictatorship. Again, those surrounded around Ricardson wallow in his demented punitive demands, therefore they deserve Richardson's wrath. Will the state legislature make a move to impeach him? I doubt that, they will just continue to accommodate him until his term expires. I returned home in 2007, to sadly see the horrific change in our government, and in our beloved Land of Enchantment. The sun now shines less brightly, and a man from San Felipe has died needlessly. Perhaps in January, 2012, the sun will shine again for those of us that saw right through the man when he arrived to "assist" the NM state democratic party, playing the role of an innocent young democratic aide while planning to fox them all out. Perhaps the New Mexican will at last expose the man. Where is the Attorney General, where is the US Attorney? Can we bear the years the man has left to sit at the helm of his kingdom? His power comes from the people that give it to him, along with the publications that publicize his power. I did not know John Dendahl had it in him to write such a great discourse of truth behind King William Richardson. I applaud the man, and I thank the New Mexican for making it public.

I too have been watching Richardson as a resident Republican of NM for over 30 years, moving away in 2001 and landing in CO in 2005. At the beginning his sole / blatant intention was to move to a small, supposedly naive state where he could exploit his Hispanic connection and move right up the political ladder. And so many fell for it - how unfortunate.

Then to blow his ultimate goal of president over a campgain contribution is poetic.

Thanks for this informative piece. I've always smelled a rat re Richardson but have, of course, never been privy to the type of info in this article. Among the many things that I have feared is that he will be able, and will apply whatever power he garners in the national arena to support the already slanted pro amnesty groups who are again pushing their open borders agenda.

Therefore, I welcome these new developments.

There was something about this man. I could not put my finger on it, when he was running for president. Was it that his guilty conscience was visible in his face, was it his demeaner. But I knew there was somethng very wrong with the guy. For him to accept the nomination for secretary of commerce amd thinking he gets away with it, was ridiculous. I hope his career has ended.
