MSM touchy-touchy over tea
What a shot in the arm it was to participate in Denver’s Tea Party. We had no harbor in which to dump tea, but I felt a strong kinship with the
Colonists who protested taxation without representation. The enormous crowd showed that same passion as well. We have infinitely more to protest today than the price of tea. The assaults on our freedom and sovereignty have been mounting for decades. Since January 20, 2009, they’ve been like a locomotive.
In advance of this event, I sent out an e-mail, asking friends to take a moment to call the Denver Post and other media outlets
and let them know that we would be watching to see how they reported on this event. Here were two of my experiences when I took my own advice:
I called the Denver Post early Wednesday morning and spoke to an editor. When I told her I don’t subscribe to the Post, she asked why I cared how they reported the story. I replied that I am frustrated by the leftwing bias of the paper and that’s why I won’t buy it. She responded in a way that I have come to expect. She hung up on me.
My other encounter came when I spoke to a reporter from Channel 7 News. I asked him to please report on the event fairly. He was visibly offended and walked away, muttering how I had already decided that it wouldn’t be. He as certainly right about that. I guess these media folks are just not used to being opposed. My advice to them is: Get used to it. Americans are finding their past and are fighting for their future.
