Bible Sunday 10/23: Firstfruits

Psalm 63:1-11. What am I thirsting or longing for right now, that actually represents a decoy for the  soul's thirst after God (verse 1)?

Nehemiah 10:1-39. Ages removed from the agriculture and sacrifices of ancient Israel, what practical meaning does bringing God the firstfruits have in my life on this Sunday (verses 35-37)?

Philippians 3:12-21. Do I ever think or act like an enemy of the cross (verse 18, KJV)? What does that entail? Can it involve omission as well as commission?

Luke 15:1-7. When have I been that one lost sheep whom the Good Shepherd came and rescued? How can I live out my indebtedness and gratitude to him in this coming week?

These are some of the questions I asked myself in studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide. Click and see what you think.  Where is your self-examination leading today?
