Bible Thursday 11/17: Widow's Mite

Psalm 105:1-45. What crises, rescues, and blessings from God would stand out in a sacred history of my own family, similar to Israel's sacred history related here?

Isaiah 22:1-25. How do the hedonism and fatalism of verse 13 show up in our present way of life? How can I constructively push back on those, starting today?

Revelation 1:9-20. Is my church alive to the reality that Jesus is constantly watching and appraising us as this passage suggests?

Luke 21:1-6. What humble, devoted Christian do I know who gives of herself or himself for God and others as this widow did?  How can I be more like her today?

These are some of the questions I asked myself in studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide. Click and see what you think.  Where is your self-examination leading today?
