Bible Sunday 12/25: Babe in a Manger

Psalm 2:1-12. Beneath the simpler and brighter emotions of Christmas Day, can I gain the spiritual toughness that faces down the world's hatred of Jesus? How can I truly "kiss the Son" (verse 12)?

Isaiah 60:1-22. What specific light do I need from Christ for some darkness in my heart or my life right now (verses 1-3, 18-20)?

Hebrews 2:1-18. What gift and what duty are mine in having for a brother (verse 11) this Jesus whose birth and death were both under God's grace (verse 9)?

Luke 2;1-20. What godly qualities of Mary and Joseph can I see in this too-familiar story, which by imitating in 2017 I would become a better servant of the Lord Jesus?

These are some of the questions I asked myself in studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide. Click and see what you think. Where is your self-examination leading today?
