Bible Tuesday 12/6: Exam Time

Psalm 26:1-12. Am I willing to accept God's scrutiny in the terms of verses 1-2, asking him to judge, examine, prove, and try me? Is there self-satisfaction in this psalm? Not entirely, as verse 11 asks for mercy.

Isaiah 41:1-29. Further on self-satisfaction: Have I the honesty to recognize God may see me as no more than a worm (verse 14, KJV)?

Revelation 11:11-19. Where in my heart and mind are the pockets of resistance to God's total sovereignty as expressed in verses 15 & 17?  How shall I break down one of those today?

Luke 23:13-25. Further on pockets of resistance: In what ways am I sometimes tempted to choose Barabbas over Jesus? Does the Christmas season lessen that or increase it?

These are some of the questions I asked myself in studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide. Click and see what you think.  Where is your self-examination leading today?
