Bible Sunday 9/18: Hand to the Plow

Psalm 93:1-5. Over what stormy seas of my personal life and our life as a country can I invoke God's calming authority today (verse 4)?

Job 25:1-6. In what specific ways was I a worm before my new birth in Jesus Christ, and how has he specifically remediated those (verse 6)?

Ephesians 6:10-24. Can I muster the discipline to pause at 10, 2, and 4 today and quickly review each part of my "whole armor of God"?

Luke 9:57-62. What qualities are suggested if I think of myself as a plowman for Christ (verse 62)?   In what ways am I tempted to look back from that commitment?

These are some of the questions I asked myself in studying this morning's four readings from the  St. James Daily Devotional Guide. Where is your self-examination leading today?
