Bible Thursday 9/22: Utter Sufficiency

Psalm 85:1-13. Where in this day can I particularly apply God's gracious balance of truth and love, law and gospel, exemplified in verse 10?

Job 29:1-23. How can I more fully live in the now, taking no blessings for granted and keeping the God-given perspective that he's with me in all seasons, bright or dark?

II Corinthians 4:7-18. At least for the next few hours, can I remain as alert as Paul was to the utter sufficiency of the risen Lord Jesus for all my needs, and thereby bless one person that needs it. Who?

Luke 9:1-9. What if I and other Christians focused more on evangelism and less on politics? Might the political powers-that-be suddenly want in on our secret, as Herod did here?

These are some of the questions I asked myself in studying this morning's four readings from the  St. James Daily Devotional Guide. Where is your self-examination leading today?
