Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalm 55:1-23. Seven ills that a godless city can experience are listed in verses 9-11. Which seems particularly applicable in my community? What am I doing about it?
Genesis 28:1-22. How real have angels been in my Christian experience (verse 12)? If I could receive an angel today, what would I ask of him or her?
Hebrews 12:12-24. Is this heavenly place to which verses 22-24 say we are come (including God's city and his angels, see above) actually for me? And for today? If so, so what?
Matthew 8:23-37. When has my little faith been a disappointment to Jesus? Was he gracious to me anyway, as to the disciples here? What did I learn?
