Bible Thursday 11/2: That Fox

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 60:1-12. Verse 3 KJV, when has God taught me a hard lesson or made me drink a bitter cup? What did I learn?

II Chronicles 13:1-22. Verse 18, when have I prevailed in a conflict or difficulty where my God-reliance was clearly decisive?

James 3:1-12. What lessons has life taught me about how words from an ungoverned tongue can harm others, harm myself, and offend God? What's my weakness in this area?

Luke 13:31-33. Herod, who killed John the Baptist and might kill Jesus next, is brushed off by him as "that fox" (KJV). Do I as a Christian overvalue political leaders for good or ill?
