Bible Tuesday 10/31: Faith Alive

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalm 34:1-22. Verse 2 KJV, what does it mean to boast in God? Does it involve the self lifted up or brought low? How can I do it today?

II Chronicles 11:1-23. Verse 4, why did God allow this awful schism between Judah and Israel? Why did he allow Christians to split east and west 1000 years ago, then north and south 500 years ago? What is it we're so slow to learn? What can I do?

James 2:14-26. Do my works show my faith? Reviewing this year, what are some hits and misses? Or does it matter?

Luke 13:22-30. Verse 24, what does Jesus mean about entering the narrow gate? Must it be done only once, or repeatedly? Where do I stand?
