Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalm 91:1-16. Verse 1 KJV, what is secret about the place where God invites me to dwell? How does this put me under his shadow? By living into this, how am I better off today?
II Chronicles 28:1-27. Verse 3, what relation does the child sacrifice cult of Ahaz have to the abortion holocaust in our own times. What more can I and my church be doing?
Revelation 2:1-7. Verses 4-5, is my church still true to its first love, still doing the first works? What's the evidence, the yardstick? If repentance is needed, what's the roadmap?
Luke 18:1-8. Verse 8, related question, if Jesus returns today, would he find faith at my house? What would he specifically be looking for? What am I majoring in that he doesn't care about?
