Bible Friday 12/29: Make Straight

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalm 18:1-50. Verses 4-6, how did the fact of death or the fear of death enter my experience this year? How did God show up? What do I need from him now? Prayer point?

Deuteronomy 1:1-46. Verses 8 and 21 KJV, what opportunity or new chapter in my life has God put before me with the challenge, "Go in and possess the land"? First step?

Revelation 21:9-27. Verse 21, source of the "pearly gates" cliche. Is heaven a sort of vague cliche to me, or does it have the vivid beauty depicted here? Why does it matter to my life now?

John 1:19-28. Verse 23, John knew his exact life-purpose from Scripture. Do I know mine the same way? What is one or several verses that I measure myself by?
