Bible Monday 2/13: Fourth Commandment

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalm 89:1-52. Have I a need on which God's timing seems to clash with my own (verses 46-47)? What form of prayer for patient trust in him can I dwell on today?

Genesis 44:1-34. When have I undertaken, or witnessed, a substitution to shield someone from risk such as Judah undertakes here (verse 33)? How did it work out?

Romans 5:12-21. Who are three people I'm close to that need to know of the gift of grace awaiting them in Jesus Christ? What can I do or say this week as a first step with one of them?

Matthew 12:1-8. How well do I understand God's sabbath in its Old and New Testament meaning? What change might I make in my weekly routine to honor it better?
