Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalm 137:1-9. Applying verse 4 to the disorientation many Christians feel in today's hostile culture, what is my answer to the "how" voiced here? What clues can I find in the psalm itself?
Proverbs 6:1-35. For which of the seven sins in verses 16-19 have I at least a little guilt? Have I confessed it to God? What can I change, starting today?
Romans 10:1-13. What's the name of one person for whom my heart's desire (verse 1) is that they would hear and accept the message of salvation starting at verse 8? Action point for today?
Matthew 13:36-43. Since the godly and ungodly people in verse 38 aren't easily distinguishable right now (see verse 29), how would Jesus have me treat everyone? Any changes needed?
