Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalm 30:1-12. When has God turned my weeping to joy, my mourning to dancing (verses 5, 11)? How did I pray? What did I learn?
Exodus 13:1-22. In what aspect of my life right now do I most need God's guiding pillar of cloud and fire? If not literally that, what form might it take? Would I notice?
I Corinthians 2:1-16. Monitoring myself as best I can, by what markers would I be aware of having the mind of Christ (verse 16)? What would be the markers noticeable to others?
Luke 2:21-24. Remembering that Jesus was devoutly raised under the law of Moses, what debt of thought and action do I owe to that tradition?
