Bible Monday 5/22: Farewell Fashion

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalm 78:1-72. What parable of Jesus, or what other Bible story, is my favorite as a vessel of spiritual truth about myself and my life (verse 2)? Action point for today?

Exodus 29:1-45. All these ordinances of God being superseded by Jesus' sacrifice, as the Book of Hebrews explains, what can I learn from pondering the detail in a chapter like this one?

I Corinthians 7:25-40. If I really took seriously Paul's warning that the time is short and the fashion of this world is passing away (verses 29, 31), what basic changes might I make, starting today?

John 8:21-30. Same question from another angle: If my life were fully devoted to doing things that please the Father (verse 29), what specifically would I do more of and less of?
