Bible Tuesday 6/20: Can't Pray a Lie

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalm 78:1-72. When have I tried to flatter God or lie to him (verses 36-38 KJV)? How did he show me compassion in return? What did I learn?

Leviticus 15:1-33. Considering how strictly the law quarantined a hemorrhaging woman, what do we learn of Jesus from his kindly material and spiritual contact with the woman in Mark 5:25?

Acts 5:1-11. Another case of lying to God, this time where his compassion is harder to see. What killed this man and his wife? Did they go to heaven or hell? Am I vigilant enough against Satan?

Mark 1:21-28. How did the demon know Jesus by name and in his divine identity? If demonic possession still occurs, what form does it now take? How does the Christian counter it?
