Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalm 84:1-12. Verse 10 calls me to a God-centered use of time and sense of status. How can I live into this new paradigm today?
Numbers 34:1-29. This suggests a God-centered redefinition of my property and possessions, my home and homeland. Do I trust him enough to try that on for size?
II Peter 1:1-11.. Verses 5-7, which of these qualities has God most fully given me, and how shall I thank him? Which quality is least natural to me, and how shall I ask God for it?
Mark 13:32-37. As between the two spiritual attitudes Jesus describes, watchfulness and sleepiness, what's my self-appraisal? Prayer point?
