Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalm 130:1-8. What qualities would I need to be a good watchman, sentinel, or lookout, alert for God to show himself (verse 6)? Prayer point for today?
Numbers 3:1-51. If the Levites knew by bloodline that God was calling them for ministry, how does a Christian of today know that call upon themself? How do I know it of another?
Acts 10:1-8. For whom might I be an answer to prayer today, as someone like Cornelius reaches out to a God not fully known and is told that help is on the way?
Mark 4:10-12. Honestly, am I more open to knowing the mystery of the Kingdom, or more deaf to Jesus' offer of conversion and forgiveness? Prayer point?
