Bible Thursday 8/24: How Good

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalm 133:1-3. What does the unity of God's people have to do with my life right now, as a benefit or a challenge? Why the symbolism of dew on the mountain or oil on Aaron's head?

Joshua 17:1-18. Trudging through the Book of Joshua, how can I see deeper into salvation history by his name being repeated long afterward in God's name for his Son, our Lord?

Acts 24:1-9. How does this prosecutor's speech, flattering the judge and smearing the defendant, typify Satan's tactics in accusing me and mine?

Mark 14:43-52. Is there any of Judas in me, even the tiniest taint or temptation? Is it a surprise to Jesus, or foreseen? Prayer point for today?
