Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalm 1:1-6. Verse 1 KJV, in what specific ways might I drift along with each of these groups today: the ungodly, the sinners, the scornful? Action point?
Joshua 21:1-45. As Israel here makes provision for its priesthood, how does my church make provision -- material and spiritual -- for its pastors? What's my part in that? Do more?
Acts 25:22 - 26:11. Verse 8, if God raising the dead seems to me incredible, impossible, or even unlikely, how does that change my relationship to him today?
Mark 15:16-21. What form does the world's mockery of Jesus take in our times? In what disarming and winsome terms would I answer it if opportunity arose?
