Bible Sunday 9/24: Say in a Word

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 96:1-13. Verse 9 KJV, if by drawing near God today I could express the beauty of holiness, what would that look like in everyday terms to the people around me?

I Chronicles 3:1-24. A thousand years after these immediate sons of David came Jesus Christ, who also called himself the son of David. Why does that matter to me in the here and now?

II Corinthians 1:12 – 2:2. Verse 12 KJV, what task or challenge am I facing today, that will go better if I approach it less with fleshly wisdom and more with the grace of God?

Luke 7:1-10. Do I accord Jesus the same high authority over everyone and everything that this centurion did? Over what need of mine shall I invite him to “say in a word” and bring healing?
