Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalm 37:1-40. Verse 4 KJV can be read to mean either God grants what my heart now desires, or he puts new and better desires in my heart. What "upgraded desires" shall I pray for today?
Judges 7:1-25. As with Gideon's army being 99% reduced, when have I seen God remove human helps so as to force our reliance upon him? To what present need of mine can this apply?
Philippians 1:19-30. Verse 20 KJV, what are some very practical and achievable ways by which I might bring others to see Christ magnified in me this very day? Action point?
Luke 4:14-21. Verse 18, recognizing this prophecy of Isaiah as specifically pointing to Jesus, how can I do my own small part in the ministries named here? Who needs some of this from me?
