Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalm 119:49-72. Verse 63 KJV, what individuals are closest to me as God-fearing, precept-keeping companions? What broader group or movement? Action point for today?
Judges 13:1-25. Although this couple and their son had special dealings with God, isn’t every baby equally “born for a purpose” as Samson was? Does my church teach and act accordingly?
Philippians 4:10-23. Verses 11-13, as God had schooled Paul in Christian contentment come what may, how am I doing on that? Present grade, A to F? Immediate goal?
Luke 5:17-26. Who’s in need of Jesus right now, where I could be the same kind of prayerful and practical companion as the paralyzed man’s stretcher-bearing friends?
