Bible Tuesday 12/4: Foundations

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 11:1-7. Verse 3 KJV, how do I answer this as a member of my community? As a citizen of my country? How does my church answer it? Are the Bible and the Gospel inherently conservative? Why or why not?

Isaiah 39:1-8. Hezekiah’s indiscretion. When have I told too much and paid the price? Growing in Christ, should I seek to become more guarded or more open?

Revelation 8:1-13. Verse 1, often joked about, but do I in fact need more silence in my life? Whole chapter, if this came today, would I be ready?

Luke 20:41 -21:4. Verse 4, when Jesus observes my religious donations and other charitable giving, what does he think?
