Bible Tuesday 1/1: Light

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 103:1-22. Verses 3-5, six benefits we receive from God. Which of them have I experienced? Which do I particularly pray for in this new year?

Genesis 1:1-31. What’s here that offends the worldly mind? What’s here that gives me hope amid present trials? What’s here that is difficult for me?

I John 2:3-11. Verse 6, what are some things I should be doing, in order to walk as much as possible in the way Jesus walked? One-month goal?

John 1:1-18. Specifically, what are things like in the darkness of life without Jesus? Why am I so inconsistent about staying near him, staying in the light.
