Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 33:1-22. Verses 10 and 11, contrasting the state of mind that ignores God with one that exalts God. Which will I take with me into this day? Which will I allow to shape my outlook this year?
Genesis 2:1-25. How were Adam and Eve, at this point in the story, better off than you and me? What hope have I of being restored to their status? Would I even want to?
Romans 5:1-11. When Jesus died for us, was that Plan A from all eternity, or Plan B devised after the man and woman threw away Eden? Does it matter as far as the way I live my life?
John 1:19-28. Verse 23 KJV, applied to present times, what does the wilderness symbolize? What’s expected of me, if anything, in making straight the way of the Lord?
