Bible Wednesday 12/12: Contrition

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 38:1-22. Verses 3, 4, 17, 18, do I have a sharp awareness of having fallen far short in God’s eyes, or is this portrait of contrition not applicable to me?

Isaiah 47:1-15. How do matters of the occult, dark powers, unholy secrets, try to get at me? What is God’s remedy?

Revelation 14:1-13. Verses 11 and 13, no rest for the ungodly, contrasted with rest for His people. In what way do I yearn for rest?

Luke 22:31-38. Having earlier recommended a sword (verse 36), Jesus now countermands that. When has it seemed I was getting contradictory leadings from God? What did I learn?
