Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 95:1-11. Verse 1, how important is singing in my day to day relationship with God? Sundays only? Why should we sing, not just speak, to him or about him? Action point?
Jeremiah 23:1-40. Verse 24, what am I hoping to hide from God, so he won't see it, judge it, and condemn or correct it in me? What if concealing the sin only worsens it?
Romans 8:12-17. Verse 15, in my "Abba, Father" relationship with God, what are some things he will always do and some he will never do? Verse 17, as his heir, what do I inherit?
Matthew 13:18-23. If the three hindrances to God's word bearing fruit in me are hard times, easy times, and the devil, which is my worst problem right now? Steps to correct that?
