Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 119:73-96. Verse 75 KJV, how can God's faithfulness move him to afflict me? When have I experienced that? What did I learn?
Jeremiah 28:1-17. Hananiah fatally clashes with Jeremiah. Have I seen an instance of two individuals claiming opposite messages from God? How did it turn out?
Romans 9:27-33. Was Jesus ever a rock of offense to me, a cause of stumbling? Do I know someone who regards him that way now? What can I do to help that person?
Matthew 13:53-58. Verse 55, "it's just the carpenter's son." Am I perhaps too familiar with Jesus, such that his humanity gets in the way of his divinity for me? Prayer point?
