Bible Friday 3/16: Fellow Prisoners

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 95:1-11. Verse 1, even if I don't sing, shout, or say anything religious, what are some do's and don'ts for letting my ordinary conversation make a joyful noise to the Lord?

Jeremiah 44:1-30. Wives burning incense to the queen of heaven. How do women today make goddesses in their own image, or men make such gods? My involvement? Antidote?

Romans 16:1-16. Paul's salutation to many of the faithful who labor in the Lord (12). What individuals in my church can I right now honor by name and pray for personally?

Matthew 19:10-12. Does God favor either marriage or celibacy above the other? How does this play out in the way my church -- and I myself -- treat people and regard them?
