Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 38:1-22. Verse 5 KJV, when has my sin turned in upon itself to become like an infected wound? How did God show up, and what did I learn? What remedies are found in this psalm?
Ezekiel 18:1-32. What examples have I seen in my own family, of generations or branches differing in their fidelity to God? Lessons? How can the final verses guide my prayers?
I Corinthians 5:9-13. How would St. Paul and the other apostles regard my church's way of disciplining instances of flagrant sin? What's the consequence of a lax approach on this?
John 4:15-26. Verse 24, other than music, what is my understanding of the worship Jesus requires? How will I worship Father, Son, and Spirit hour by hour throughout this day?
