Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 55:1-23. Verse 17, is my prayer life structured to a daily pattern like this, or irregular at need? Does it matter? Action point?
Ezekiel 28:1-26. Verses 2 and 9, in what ways do worldly knowledge, wealth, and power lure people into thinking they don't need God? Where am I vulnerable to this?
I Corinthians 9:13-27. Verse 22, often misapplied to describe unprincipled opportunism. But if not that, what does Paul mean here? How can I be more like him in handling the gospel?
John 7:25-36. What made the difference between those of Jesus' hearers who believed he was the Christ, and those who did not? What traits of each group can I see in myself?
