Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 18:1-50. Verse 10, today's imagery might be a fighter plane or rescue chopper. Where do I need God to swoop in with that kind of purposeful power in my life right now?
I Samuel 5:1-12. Verses 2-4, what exalted false god of modern life is broken and brought low by the true and living God? Does that just happen, or do we have a part to play?
Joel 3:1-11. Verses 3 and 6, human trafficking with children. Is this global problem present in my own community? How would I find out? What should I do?
John 9:35-41. Why are so many people still blind to the message and mission of Jesus? Are my eyes fully open to who he is, what he offers me and asks of me? Action point?
