Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 119:145-176. Verse 164, praising Him seven times a day. Being honest with myself, how many times on a typical day do I pause and go before God? Action point?
II Samuel 15:1-37. Absalom rebels, David flees. What is the worst defeat or failure I have ever suffered? How did God show up? What did I learn?
Acts 16:16-24. Verse 19, what is today's counterpart of a powerful business interest that exploits women, plays politics, and cloaks itself in lies? What can I and my church do about it?
Mark 2:23-28. How important is God's sabbath in my Christian life? Is Jesus pleased with the way I keep the day of rest his Father commanded?
