Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 85:1-13. Verse 8, what does God want me to hear him saying today? What does the enemy want me to hear? Prayer point?
Job 34:1-37. Verse 21, what has God seen me doing this week that pleased him? What has he seen me doing that displeased him? Prayer point?
II Corinthians 13:1-14. Verse 5, examining myself to see how fully Jesus lives in me, what kind of specific checklist could I use? Who helps keep me accountable?
Luke 5:1-11. Verse 8, when have I felt I was too flawed for Jesus to care about or make use of? Verse 10, how is he using me now as a fisher of men? What’s my next step in that direction?
