Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 118:1-29. Verse 27 KJV, in what specific ways has God shown me light? What specific darkness do I need him to light up today?
Ezra 4:1-24. What power structures and entrenched interests does my church threaten? How do they try to stop us building the kingdom? What’s our defense? My role?
I John 4:20 - 5:13. Verse 20, what’s one small, practical step I can take today, to score closer to 100 on this scale of truly loving God?
Luke 6:27-36. Similar but harder. What concrete thing shall I do today in loving my enemies and blessing those who curse me?
