Bible Wednesday 10/3: Try the Spirits

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 119:121-144. Verse 141 KJV, in what way do I feel too small for my big responsibilities and big problems? How does a big God speak into that situation?

Job 40:1-24. Verse 14, when have I acted as if my own hand could save me? Am I in any way doing so now?

I John 3:24 - 4:6. Verse 1, what are some deceiving spirits (ideas, beliefs, moods, desires) that might seduce me today, claiming to come from God even though they are from the enemy?

Luke 6:6-11. Verse 9, how does our law sometimes side with evil against good, with death against life? What are the consequences? What are I and my church doing about this?
