Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 139:1-24. What hidden aspect of mind or body am I tempted to think God doesn’t know or care about? How does this psalm refute that? Prayer point?
Micah 7:1-20. Verses 5-9, what alienation or antagonism divides me from family or friends right now? What would God’s reconciliation and restoration of those relationships look like in 2020?
Revelation 20:1-10. Satan the deceiver. What lies, woven into my current circumstances, tend to distract and distance me from God and Christ? What remedy have I been neglecting?
John 1:1-18. Verse 14, if Jesus was the Word made flesh, how does that confer new hope, new possibilities for my fleshly identity this day and this coming year?
