Bible Saturday 1/4: The Sword

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 11:1-7. Verse 3 KJV, what foundations is this telling me to protect, for the sake of God’s righteousness? Action point for today?

Deuteronomy 4:1-49. Moses reminds the people of God’s faithfulness. Verses 32-34, when have I been tempted to say of God “if only” or “why not”? What’s the consequence of that?

Hebrews 4:1-13. Verses 12 and 13, today where do I specifically need this power of God’s word to cut, divide, discern, and reveal?

Matthew 22:41-45. Do I uphold in myself, and encourage in others, a high enough view of Jesus Christ—the Trinity, the Incarnation, the Atonement? What’s stopping me?
