Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 89:1-52. KJV verses 1, 2, 14, 24, 28, God’s mercy. How many evidences of his mercy to me and mine can I quickly name right now?
Genesis 49:1-33. Founding of the 12 tribes of Israel. What did my father or mother foresee for me as I entered adulthood? What came about that way or differently? Where was God in all of that?
Romans 6:15-23. Whose servant or slave am I really? What “wage” will my thoughts and actions earn me today?
Matthew 12:46-50. When Jesus invites me to call him brother, what is he offering me this very day? What is he expecting of me?
