Bible Saturday 2/23: No Contest

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 33:1-22. Verse 21, joy comes from trusting God, relying on who he is. Have I mistakenly connected my joy to what God has done for me lately?

Proverbs 1:1-33. Verses 8 and 9, what did I learn from my father or mother about godliness and right living? Or perhaps, what example did they set for me of how not to live?

Romans 8:31-39. Verse 31, what Goliath of a problem am I facing right now, to which this can apply today? Verse 37, what would it look like to “more that conquer” that challenge?

Matthew 13:31-35. Verse 33, what are three areas of life in my community that need the leaven or yeast of Christ right now? What is my church doing about it? My role?
