Bible Thursday 4/4: At Your Service

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 69:1-36. Verse 31, is there something right now that I am mistakenly doing for God or giving to God, that causes him to say, “Thanks but no thanks. There’s something I want from you so much more”—?

Ecclesiastes 10:1-20. Verse 2, am I too preoccupied with right vs. left, conservative vs. liberal, us vs. them? Does God have a better way of organizing my worldview and goals, that I’m overlooking?

Matthew 23:1-22. Verses 11 and 12, what opportunity can I find today to abase myself and humbly serve someone in Christ’s name?

Matthew 23:23-36. Verses 25 and 26, what inward cleanup have I been postponing? First step today?
