Bible Wednesday 4/24: His Voice

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 115:1-18. Verse 1, in what way do I tend to make things too much about me? Why does this displease God? What’s his remedy?

Song of Solomon 4:1-16. Verses 12-16, God’s garden. It’s said the risen Jesus has reopened Eden for us. But it’s also said this world is no rose garden. What can this really mean for me and my family?

John 20:1-10. Verse 9, Jesus’ own men seem to take his resurrection promise less seriously than his enemies (see Matthew 27:63). What has the Lord offered me that I have trouble accepting? First step today?

John 20:11-18. Verse 16, if I could hear Jesus speak my name aloud, just that one word, what is some of the meaning and message it would impress on me? Is the same audible right now in my heart?
