Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 90:1-17. Verse 12, how does God want me to use and measure my days, today included? What is the wisdom he wants me to take to heart?
Leviticus 12:1-8. What does my church do to hallow each baby and its mother as Christians, comparable to God’s instructions to the Israelites? (Obeyed even by Jesus’ parents; see Luke 2;22.)
I Corinthians 15:58-16:12. Verse 9, what open door has God given me for useful work in Christ right now? What opposition or obstacles must I overcome? Prayer point?
John 19:31-42. Verse 39, compare Nicodemus’s reverent devotion here with his doubtful curiosity in John 3. Whom do I know that is gradually drawing nearer Jesus, and how can I help them along?
