Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 30:1-12. Verses 5 and 11, what sorrow do I need to lay before God today? What would his response of joy and gladness look like in my situation?
Numbers 13:1-33. Verse 33, when have I felt completely inadequate for something I had to undertake? How did God show up? Present application?
Acts 12:1-19. Peter’s deliverance from prison incredible to him, the girl, and the gathering. When have I found God’s goodness too good to be true? Present application?
Mark 8:11-21. Verse 15 KJV, what form does the false leaven of religion and politics take these days? What is Jesus’ corrective for each of those, the true leaven I need?
