Bible Sunday 7/28: Beaten Down

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 84:1-12. Verse 10, The Message gives this as scrubbing floors for God vs. luxuriating in the palace of sin. What does this call on me to do more of, and less of, in my life today?

Numbers 21:1-35. Verse 4 KJV, what is my heaviest discouragement right now? What encouragement does God have for me today?

Acts 14:19-28. Verse 27 KJV, rehearsing God’s blessings upon us. So far in 2019, how have I and my family experienced his goodness and mercy?

Mark 10:23-31. Echoes Psalms 84:10, above. Verse 25, what baggage must I offload to approach God through the needle’s eye? Verse 30, what persecutions must I prepare for?
